Our staff
Our staff are committed and dedicated to the children and families who make up the kindy community each year and our centre benefits greatly from the depth of experience and professional expertise that each staff member brings.
All Springwood Community Kindergarten educators hold Early Childhood qualifications plus current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis (Epipen) certificates. They also participate in a range of professional development sessions throughout the year.
Inclusion Aides are employed from time to time to ensure all children can participate in the full kindy program.
I have worked in Early Childhood education for 23 years, as a kindy teacher, Prep teacher and Lecturer at university. I have been teaching at Springwood Community Kindergarten for 7 years.
Working collaboratively with children and families is a core focus of who we are and I love the strong partnerships we build each year.
I believe that children are curious little people who are striving to discover how the world works. My role as a kindy teacher is to foster their wonder and have fun learning and growing together along the way. Through collaborative play and a focus on problem solving, we investigate, question and support each other in our learning environment.
I also have a keen interest in supporting children and families to make a positive transition to school. I believe that helping children to feel independent gives them the confidence to embrace the new challenges that school brings.
I feel very fortunate to work with an amazing team at Springwood Community Kindergarten. I look forward to the exciting new adventures future years will bring.
When I’m not at kindy, I love spending time with my family, playing netball and camping.

I’ve been working in education for 17 years. I began as an inclusion aide within a high school but soon realised my passion was working in the early years. I enrolled in a Certificate III of children’s services and soon began my career in early childhood education.
I have three children of my own, with my youngest having attended Springwood Community Kindergarten. While she was there, I was impressed by the amazing natural outdoor space, and the passion and commitment displayed by the staff. I now feel very fortunate to be working alongside the most incredible, talented, and dedicated staff at Springwood Kindy.
After working for many years in early education and supporting children with additional needs I decided to enrol in the Graduate Certificate of Autism Studies at Griffith University in order to enhance my skills and knowledge working with children on the autism spectrum. I have a strong passion for inclusion, particularly supporting children with additional needs to participate in a mainstream program, something I feel Springwood Community Kindergarten excels at.
I love having the opportunity to help children engage in a variety of experiences and watch their confidence grow as they learn new skills and build relationships. I’m so happy I get to work alongside such an amazing team who are all so dedicated to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for children and families.

I am so excited to be part of the dedicated team at Springwood Community Kindergarten. I became involved when my youngest attended in 2021. I watched her as she was encouraged to build new friendships and a love of learning, with teachers nurturing her to become a strong, independent learner who was ready to start Prep.
My working life has been so diverse; from working in Film & Television industry (painting), life guarding, carving rocks for Warner Brothers theme parks, working at Bunnings and owning a painting construction company.
I see my current role not as a job, but more as a passion. I studied and started relief teacher aide work in 2018 in primary school. I enjoyed it but when I was asked to work supporting children in the Early Childhood Development Program, assisting children with complex needs, it became a true passion.
I have a wide range of personal experience with neuro-diverse and special-needs children and I have the patience and understanding necessary to help children navigate through the complexities of life.
I believe children are capable of so much at this age. And I believe by building confidence, encouraging independence and supporting their emotional well-being, we can prepare children for a smooth transition to Prep.
My hobbies include renovating, painting, gardening, and surf lifesaving. I have been involved with Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club, starting as a nipper and now holding my bronze medallion and supporting my own children who attended nippers in the summer.

I have been married for 35 years and have 3 wonderful boys, beautiful daughter-in-laws and 2 beautiful granddaughters. After having my children I decided I would like to work with young children and completed my Diploma in Child Care. Ever since then I have been working in the industry and love it!
I am lucky enough to say I have been a part of our wonderful kindergarten for 23 years as Teacher Aide! I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many families within our community.
I have a true passion for working with our youngest learners! Helping children to progress in all areas of their development and to have fun while learning is what makes me happy.
My area of interest is collage and painting, working with the children on projects and seeing how proud they are brings a smile to my face everyday.
I believe we have a responsibility to build the strongest foundations for our kindy children.
“Play Inspires Learning” is not just our catch phrase, it is what we all believe. Our team of Educators are amazing and we are all passionate, dedicated and care about Springwood Community Kindergarten which is why I love working here.
When I’m not at kindy I like to read, spend time with my grandchildren and travel in our caravan.
I will be your new administration officer for 2024!
Diploma of Childcare
Hi Borobi Families, my name is Bella, and I am honoured to take on the role of the 2025 Borobi Group Teacher. I have worked in the early childhood sector for three years, supporting children aged 0 to 5. I hold a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) degree and am passionate about lifelong learning. I value professional development and enjoy embracing new, creative approaches to enhance children’s learning and development.
I truly believe that every child is unique, capable, and full of potential. They’re naturally curious about the world, and my role is to nurture that curiosity, help them develop resilience, and support their independence as they embrace new challenges and thrive in new environments. I am particularly passionate about outdoor and risky play. While no play space is entirely risk-free, I believe the key is to support children in navigating challenges, solving problems, and growing physical confidence.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, Pilates, and functional training. Starting my day with exercise energises me and helps me bring my best self to the classroom. I also love travelling— exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and visiting my family in China.
I feel so fortunate to join Springwood Community Kindergarten and to work with such an amazing team. I am excited to meet you and your children, get to know your families and share an incredible year of learning and growth together. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I can’t wait to start this journey with you all in 2025.
